Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City – With the intensified operation of the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group, one (1) Korean National victim of Kidnapping for Ransom alias Naying, 74 years old, was successfully rescued. Subsequently, the operatives arrested one (1) Chinese national suspect.

The operation was rooted in the complaint reported by Mr. Lee, Dongho (friend of the victim) on October 5, 2023, at about 11:00 PM, who was assisted by Major Manny Heo, Korean Consular Officer. They personally appeared to this Unit and reported the alleged kidnapping of alias Naying that transpired on September 27, 2023, between 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at the outside parking area of Gonghang Corporation, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.

According to the complainant, Alias Naying was forcibly taken by unidentified malefactors boarded into the get-away vehicle, and brought to an unknown location. The initial Ransom Demand by the suspects was Two Billion Korean Won (KRW2,000,000,000.00) which is equivalent to PHP 83 Million. According to the complainant, an initial amount of PhP 1 Million was already paid to the captors on October 1, 2023, at the Lobby of Las Palmas Hotel, Malate, Manila.

The Investigating Team of this Group conducted a Backtracking investigation and was able to get the details of the get-away vehicles used by the suspects during the abduction incident. Meanwhile, PBGEN COSME A ABRENICA, Director AKG, instructed his men to closely monitor the case and conduct an intensified police operation for the immediate resolution of the case.

With the Agarang Kilos at Gawa commitment of AKG, on October 16, 2023, at about 3:00 PM, personnel of this Group in coordination with RIU 4A, Calamba CPS, and PIU / PIT, Laguna proceeded at Reyes Private Pool, Kaimo Street, Pansol, Calamba City, Laguna, which where the victim was allegedly held captive. Upon their arrival at the said place, they were able to rescue the victim and subsequently, arrested the suspect identified as one (1) Mr. Li Cheng, a Chinese national.

The accused is now temporarily detained at PNP-AKG Detention Facility, for proper documentation prior to filing of appropriate charges against him.
